In this episode, I talk about the grief I have experienced since the passing of my cousin and one of my best friends, Chazatie. Since her passing last November, I have been trying to reconcile the fact that she really slipped out of here without saying goodbye or even an “I’m headed out!” 😂 To know Chat was to know she was always going to get a giggle in, and that was just one of the many reasons she was my girl.
Last year, I felt a push to talk about grief on the podcast: grief in death, grief at the end of a relationship, and even the grief of not being where you thought you would be in life. What I didn’t know then was that I would soon be grieving the passing of my own cousin.
So, I packed the idea up because I wasn’t ready to talk about grief anymore…until now.
In Part I of Grief & Glory, I share what I am learning through the passing of Chat, what it looks like to carry a grief I cannot fix, and how I am finding God in the middle of it all. I know I’m not the only one out here trying to figure out how to grieve, keep living, and hold on to my faith at the same time. So, let’s walk it down together.
This episode was recorded in loving memory of my girl, Chazatie Brook Carter.
May your laughter, love, light and legacy live on through all of us who had the privilege of loving you. I love you cousin, forever and a day.💛
