It's been debated for years but the fate of the proposed Macquarie Point stadium and possibly Tassie's long held dream of an AFL team will soon be decided.

The government is bypassing the Planning Commission after being unhappy with its draft assessment of the proposal and will introduce special legislation into parliament. 

Likely to pass the Lower House, a few key independents in the Upper House have a big game in their hands.
