After meetings at the United Nations (Wednesday) - the president discussed U-S/North Korea relations at a news conference - saying of the letters written to him from North Korean leader Kim Jong Un:

It could be one of those Washington days that define a political era.
When Supreme Court pick Brett Kavanaugh and his original accuser Christine Blasey Ford deliver dueling testimony today, they will conjure drama of an intensity unusual even in the Trump administration. Ford will step forward to tell her story -- exposing herself to the world, instantly becoming an icon of the social revolution unleashed by the #MeToo moment and putting her own reputation and her family's safety at risk.

St. Vincent de Paul was born to a poor peasant family in a French village on April 24, 1581. His first formal education was provided by the Franciscans. He did so well, he was hired to tutor the children of a nearby wealthy family.
He spent his life preaching missions to and providing relief to the poor. He even established hospitals for them. This work became his passion. He later extended his concern and ministry to convicts. The need to evangelize and assist these souls was so great and the demands beyond his own ability to meet that he founded the Ladies of Charity, a lay institute of woman, to help, as well as a religious institute of priests - the Congregation of Priests of the Mission, commonly referred to now as the Vin cen tians. He was once accused of stealing 400 crowns by his roommate a judge. He explained it could not be him he was bedridden that day with illness and he insisted G-d new the truth. Several days later the real thief confessed he had made a delivery to their house came in saw the money and took it. His roommate felt horrible and got on his knees and begged for forgiveness. His incorrupt heart can be found in the Convent of the Sisters of Charity and his bones have been embedded in a wax effigy of the Saint located at the Church of the lazerist Mission. Both sites are located in Paris, France.
