As its name implies, the new infrastructure bill passing through congress addresses infrastructure—roads, bridges, waterways, ports, airports, transit, rail,  cryptocurrencies … Wait, what? Cryptocurrencies?

First they distrusted them. Then they hated them. Now, congress and the administration are looking to cryptocurrencies to fund $50 billion of the new infrastructure bill. Congratulations, cryptocurrencies are now legit! But legitimacy comes at a price. And yes, taxation will follow, but figuring out crypto tax policies will be no easy task for the Treasury Department.
