Crystal designer Peter Yenawine's work on display in Clayton

World renowned crystal artist Peter Yenawine will visit the Thousand Islands Arts Center in Clayton next week. Yenawine turned his passion for art and design into a livelihood. He was a Master Designer at Steuben Glass, Director of Designs for the Franklin Mint, and eventually became president and chief designer of Crystal Signatures in Pennsylvania.Yenawine has collaborated with seven different presidential administrations, including work for the Obama White House. Yenawine's designs can be seen in private collections and major museums throughout the world.Todd Moe asked Peter Yenawine what makes crystal so special, and about his passion for creating crystal bowls, obelisks and sculptures.The solo exhibition "Yenawine: Through My Eyes" opens Wednesday, July 18 with a reception from 5-7 pm and will be on display though Tuesday, September 4, 2018.Thousand Islands Arts Center is located at 314 John Street in Clayton, New York, and is open Monday through Friday, 9 am - 5 pm.More about Peter Yenawine and his work.
