Dank gefallener Preise amortisiert sich ein Balkonkraftwerk schon nach wenigen Jahren. Es verschenkt aber auch ungenutzten Strom ins Netz. Wir besprechen, ob sich ein Batteriespeicher als Ergänzung lohnt.
Wenn der PC von Freunden oder Verwandten zickt, hilft man doch gerne. Damit das möglichst schnell und erfolgreich klappt, beschreiben die c’t-Redakteure Jan Schüßler und Peter Siering zum Einen Fernwartungstools und zum Anderen, was man bei Reparaturbesuchen alles dabei haben sollte.
Es gibt sie bereits seit einigen Wochen und sie kamen auch schon in einer Uplink-Folge vor: Notebooks mit Snapdragon-X-Prozessor, auf denen Windows 11 läuft. Inzwischen haben wir mehr Erfahrungen mit den Geräten und verschiedenen Arten von Anwendungen gesammelt: Bildbearbeitung, Videoschnitt, Musikproduktion, Gaming – und natürlich der immer lauter werdenden Frage, wann das denn mit Linux mal was wird. Darüber sprechen wir in dieser Folge des c’t uplink mit Florian Müssig, Peter Siering und Christof Windeck.
Diesmal sprechen wir im c’t uplink über AMDs CPU-Architektur Zen 5 in Gestalt der CPU-Serie Ryzen 9000. Wo sind die Verbesserungen zum 7000er Ryzen besonders auffällig? Wie ist es um die Effizienz bestellt, und wie um die allgemeine Performance? Und wie kann Intel zur Zeit dagegen halten?
Diesmal sprechen wir im c’t uplink über verschiedene Tool-Kategorien, die dabei helfen, Wissen und Ideen zu ordnen. Stefan Wischner beschreibt das Wissensmanagement-Tool Obsidian. Sabrina Patsch hat eine Reihe von Programmen zur Literaturverwaltung getestet und Dorothee Wiegand befasst sich mit dem Thema Mindmapping – einer Technik, mit der sich Gedanken, Assoziationen und Wissen visualisieren und strukturieren lassen.
Immer wieder liest und hört man von Wohnungsbränden, die von explodierenden Akkus verursacht sind. In unserem Podcast diskutieren wir, wie hoch die Gefahr wirklich ist, warum Akkus überhaupt brennen, was von Schutztaschen zu halten ist und wie man das Brandrisiko weiter senkt. Zu Gast im Studio: Michael Link und Christian Wölbert aus der c’t-Redaktion.
In dieser Ausgabe von c't-uplink geht es um PC-Monitore. Unsere Gäste Ulrike Kuhlmann und Benjamin Kraft beschreiben, wie moderne Monitore funktionieren und welche technischen Unterschiede es bei verschiedenen Modellen gibt. Im Gespräch klären wir, welche Technik und welches Feature man für bestimmte Aufgabenbereiche benötigt und so das passende Gerät findet.
Mini-PCs benötigen weniger Stellfläche, sparen Strom, arbeiten leise und kosten im Idealfall nicht viel. Die Kollegen Carsten Spille und Christof Windeck erklären, worauf beim Kauf zu achten ist, wo die Minis ihre Stärken haben, aber auch ihre Schwächen und Leistungsgrenzen. Zudem haben sie sechs Mini-PCs mit aktuellen AMD- und Intel-Prozessoren getestet.
Ein Mann läuft mit Trittleiter über das Gelände einer McDonald’s-Filiale, klappt die Leiter alle paar Meter auf, steigt hoch und kundschaftet die Überwachungskameras aus.
