We’re back with another installment of everyone’s favorite week – CULT WEEK – and boy do we have some cults (or maybe just one cult) for you!

Dreia needs a bit of a refresher on the definition of a cult, but we’ll work on that later. Today, she’s going to tell you about the piece of garbage that is Carl Drew and his band of followers in the story of the Fall River Cult Murders. At the height of Satanic Panic in the late 1970s and early 80s, several women in Fall River, Massachusetts were murdered in what seemed to be satanic rituals. At the center of it all was the leader of the Fall River Cult, Carl Drew. It’s pretty rough and Maggie is still not convinced that this was a cult, but just a bunch of people making some really terrible decisions.

Now, what you’ve all been waiting for – an actual cult! This week, Maggie is covering The People’s Temple. We are sure you’ve heard of it – it’s the one where Jim Jones is the literal worst atheist ever and convinces/forces 900 people to drink cyanide laced Flavor Aid when his empire starts crumbling beneath him. Sound familiar? Yeah, it’s the Jonestown Massacre. Don’t even try to call it a mass suicide, because Maggie will fight you.
