The family is the bedrock of society, and the spousal relationship is at its core. Allah says in Surah ar-Rum, “And it is among His signs that He has created for you spouses from among yourselves, so that you may find tranquility in them, and He has created love and kindness between you” (Qur’an, 30:21).
