If you admire, adopt, and adapt the practice of another culture, these days, you're immediately accused of a new sin the left calls "cultural appropriation." Don't you dare learn from and use a tradition, food, clothing, etc developed by another culture for this is theft, pure and simple. Or so says identity politics. But could it also be what it has been since the dawn of time, intercultural communication and exchange, learning, sure--maybe absconding at times--but mostly just cultural evolution and harmless social change, something we might better call cultural appreciation. It's one of the issues in our day.
