Today, we are focusing on cultural competence and sexual health. Those of us with little exposure to cultures and cultural practices outside our own can be quite challenged when talking to those patients. We are talking with Dr. Rachel Pope, from the dept of Urology at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. She has worked extensively in Southern Africa, helping women with extensive childbirth injuries. She explains how she approaches talking to women with cultural practices like clitoral cutting.
