<p>In order to the understand the imagery, ideas, and message of the Bible, one must understand the worldview of the people of the Bible to whom Yahweh revealed Himself. A crucial part of their worldview was the way their families and societies were structured—completely different from the modern western world that is more familiar. The Bible does not necessarily call us to imitate this culture but to understand it so we can learn from it.</p>
