Curiosity & Compassion | Who Am I?, Part 3
If you could see you as God sees you, you’d be ok with you too.
In this series, we are exploring identity. It’s a familiar concept yet difficult to define. Oftentimes, our identity becomes contingent on external conditions, qualifications, achievements, or labels.
But what if we were only meant to define ourselves in relation to God - created in his image, loved unconditionally just as we are. Not because of what we’ve done but because of what has already been done for us through the power of Jesus.
Because the truth is - you and God are good.
SCRIPTURE:
8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. - Ephesians 2:8-9
10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. - Ephesians 2:10
36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” - Matthew 22:36-40
2 Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. - 2 Peter 1:2
3 His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. - 2 Peter 1:3
