On this episode of the Statist Quo, Matt and Nick talk some current events, starting off with several stories about the drug war, including an Army vet doing life in prison over 2 joints worth of weed. It’s an excellent representation of the permanence of federal policy, and a reminder of why we should “oppose a disease at its root”, like John Dickinson, the Penman of the Revolution once said. 

After that, we go over some stories of police abuse and cruelty to animals, the after-effects of the Iranian missile strike on al-Asad Airbase in Iraq, of which the DOD has now reported 50 troops diagnosed with TBIs. 

We finish with a story from Task and Purpose about “plastic patriotism”, and the phenomenon of using “muh troopz” for people’s pet political projects.
