Curry Café: Seniors Living Alone

Listen Later

This episode of Curry Café features a panel discussion on social isolation, particularly among older adults. The conversation explores various perspectives on living alone—by choice or circumstance—and coping mechanisms, including hobbies, community engagement, and faith. The panelists also discuss the impact of rapidly advancing artificial intelligence on various aspects of life, from creative fields to social interactions, expressing concerns about potential job displacement and societal changes. Their experiences and opinions highlight the complexities of modern life and the search for connection and meaning in an evolving world. The conversation touches upon broader themes of community, faith, and the challenges of aging in the digital age.

Curry Café host Ray Gary. Ray also produces and hosts two music shows on KCIW; Moon Dog and What’s Going On. Joining the conversation is Shirley Hyatt, volunteer and producer and host of her own music shows, Mostly Bluegrass and Stardust; Robert O’Sullivan, a former pastor and high school teacher; and Robin Ronay, volunteer and local realtor.

We encourage anyone with differing views to participate in future Curry Café discussions. If you’re interested in joining the panel, email [email protected] or call 541-661-4098.
