The Curse of the Bambino was a superstitious sports curse in Major League Baseball derived from the 86 year championship drought of the Boston Red Sox between 1918 and 2004. People believed there was a curse placed upon the team after the Red Sox sold Babe Ruth to the New York Yankees after the 1919 season.
