Nintendo confirmed that a significant feature was cut from the development of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. Initially, the development team was working on a feature that allowed players to create their own dungeons, akin to an 'edit dungeon' mode. This feature, which would have enabled players to copy and paste various objects like doors and candlesticks to create original dungeons, was in development for about a year before it was scrapped. According to Eiji Aonuma, the Zelda series producer, and Satoshi Terada, a director at Grezzo, the decision to cut this feature was made after realizing that using copied-and-pasted items as tools to further the adventure was more compelling. This led to the development of the 'echoes' feature, where Princess Zelda can create environmental 'echoes' of items and enemies to help in puzzle-solving and combat[5].
