Welcome! This week we have a special guest, Megan Vogt-Kostner. Megan is the Senior Research Analyst in the Office of Institutional Effectiveness & Planning at the University of Northern Iowa. She answers all my Qualtrics questions and more
Question of the week: What is your favorite holiday and why?
Holidays are great opportunities to spend time with those you love, so are one-on-ones-- which is how this week’s episode began. Mike P and Brendan desperately want a one-on-one. Katie talks about how she is unsure if her one-on-ones should be used to grow the current relationships she has or to explore new ones. We get a bit of an insight into which way she leans when she invites Greg on the first one-on-one of the week.
Greg date: Seattle themed. They toss a fish and do unspeakable things to poor oysters. Greg is like Eyor but an Eyor you kinda wanna make out with. They seem like a normal couple.
Meanwhile, Michael video chats with his young son, James, while drinking a mimosa.
The group date card is announced, indicating that Mike P. has the final one-on-one. This has Brendan Bangs upset. He decides to pay Katie a visit in her room. His intentions with this visit seemed really unclear to me.
Andrew, Justin, Blake and Michael have their group date. It begins with vagina flower art painting???? Michael sculpts a butt. Andrew makes a dirty sushi picture. Justin is very serious about all this. And Blake’s picture is so obscene they black it all out. Thoughts?
That evening, Blake makes it clear that he is NOT in love with Katie but them falling in love is effin’ inevitable. Thoughts?
Bill’s XC on emophilia
Justin shows Katie his impressive painting. We are reminded that he was her first kiss on the Bachelorette. Then they make out.
In her convo with Michael, Katie says that if they’re meant to be together, then she’s confident that everything else will fall into place. She thinks all the time about what it would mean to become a stepmom and the life she pictures herself, Michael, and James having together is “such a dream.”
Intensive Mothering EC Danielle
Andrew talks about his football career and being in Austria. Btw- I completely forgot about his weird on again off again accent this week. She says they will work things out down the road if he is picked.
Michael get the rose. You can tell Andrew is hurt it wasn’t him. The men are starting to show the wear and tear of the process a bit.
Mike’s One-on-One with Cuddle Queen Jean. This date was doomed. It is very awkward. Then if it couldn’t get weirder, Mike starts comparing her cuddles to his mother’s. (Insert wide eyes). Then Katie cries and sends Mike home.
Rose ceremony. All of the internet is surprised (except for bill) when Katie sends Andrew home. They have a heartbreaking breakup. Katie isn’t confident she made the right choice. The next morning, Andrew shows up at her door. He wanted to leave her smiling. They have a short conversation, he leaves and gives her a note on his way out. It reads, “If you change your mind, I’ll be waiting.” Katie chases after him. They hug. Then she asks him to stay and he’s like, “nah”. WHAT HAPPENED HERE? Oh yeah, and then they kiss and he leaves.
Next week is hometowns. Katie hasn’t told anyone she loves them. Everyone is kinda freaking.
