We decided to take generative AI's pulse once again, as it (almost) becomes sentient ! Each of us also share one clip created with AI and discuss it, ultimately learning that our dear Piotr is a traitor to the show, since he distributed his own AI generated clips to advertise his (excellent) short film "Yellow Ticket" and probably made money off our sweaty backs (Piotr denies making any cent, but who can you trust nowadays ?).

1st episode of a new year (2025) and a new season!

Ricky, Piotr and Erwann do a 2024 year in review. The episode hits with Erwann playing "Love Theme from The Godfather" on a music box, he gifted the others for Christmas. Then he complains about not having a nickname. The boys discuss their goals for the year: Ricky and Erwann don't want to put things off and Piotr wants to get rejected more and something about exposing himself. Then talk turns to movies from 2024 they enjoyed (and hated), if Erwann succeeded in watching a movie-a-day in 2024 and what to expect from Cut to Reveal in 2025.

Episode 29: The gang investigates the Rashomon Effect ! They discuss the Kurosawa movie that started it all, the unreliable narrator theory, how the psychology field seized the term, and how Rashomon's legacy can be felt to this day in cinema, through movies like Ridley Scott's "The Last Duel" or David Fincher "Gone Girl". A listener asked to hear more about editing techniques so Ricky and Piotr talk about the Kuleshov Effect or Editor’s Effect. Named after early 20th century Russian film maker and film theorist, Lev Kuleshov, the “Effect” or “Kuleshov Experiment” as it was also known as, was actually a demonstration proving the effectiveness of existing editing techniques.  Ricky and Piotr talk a little about who Kuleshov was, what the "Effect" is and how filmmakers like Hitchcock, Spielberg and others adapted it in their own film making. Then give examples of the Khuleshov Effect or Editor’s Effect in recent films and TV.
