We just finished a garage sale where we sold everything we had in our storage unit. These were stuff from one of the bakery locations where I was kicked out of the lease. So I sold out all the equipment and other things from the house in the storage unit, which I was paying $830 a month. This stuff was there for two and a half years. The money I spent on the storage fees was way more than the value of the items stored there.
Getting rid of clutter and baggage makes you feel liberated. Holding on to something for many years with the hope of using it in the future is a poverty or scarcity mindset. Overcoming this mindset is key to letting go and giving room for new experiences. Baggage affects us mentally and prevents us from experiencing new things.
Holding on to something impedes your ability to have an abundant lifestyle to build a vision and a future for yourself. Thinking about the future rather than holding on to stuff from the past that currently doesn't have any value cultivates an abundant mindset.
Clearing stuff is not just physical stuff. It includes social circles, friends, relationships that are not working anymore. If they are not bringing any value to you, you have to cut your losses, get rid of them, and move on to experience new amazing things without the baggage.
