Cuties or Mignonnes as it’s called in French is a coming of age story about 11 year old Amy (Fathia Youssouf), this is the debut film from writer/director Maïmouna Doucouré. Which upon watching reminded me of another coming of age film Thirteen (2003) that debut 17 years ago at the Sundance film festival.
