The Hu are an internationally known, global sensation, Mongolian rock band. Now the words "Mongolian rock band" isn't something you hear everyday yet The Hu have been able to succesfully marry tradiation Mongolian music and hard rock together in way no one had ever heard before. With their 3rd album The Hun about to see the light of day and a tour with Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson bout to kick off, I catch up with Jaya of The Hu.

Celebrating more than 30 years of Candlebox, lead singer Kevin Martin returns to the Rockcast and The Cutting Edge Countdown to kick off the Can't Quit You Tour. My morning show co-host Laura Lee joins me for this conversation with one of the most successful bands of the 90s and beyond.

The band Saosin were darlings of the scene in the early 2000s, releasing their fan favorite self-titled album 20 years ago. It's hard to believe that to date, they have only released 3 full-length albums. The times they are a-changing, with a new singer and a new lease on life, the band Saosin has returned with their first new music in 10 years.

With the release of the new Eva Under Fire new album Villianous just around the corner, lead singer Amanda Lyberg is back on Cutter's Rockcast. This band is THE band to watch in 2026.

Kenny Wayne Shepherd is by far one of the most prolific modern blues musicians and one of the few that have had crossover hit songs on rock radio. 32 years ago he released his debut album Ledbetter Heights to huge success, and remember this is the album before his timeless mainstay "Blue on Black." Featuring hit radio songs "Deja Voodoo" and "Aberdeen" it reasonated with millions of people at a time when hair metal had faded and grunge was all the rave. Now 30 years later Kenny has been on the road playing the album from start to finish and put out a re-recorded version called Ledbetter Heights (30th Anniversary Sessions). 

This conversation was also recorded for my morning show WAPL Mornings With Laura Lee & Cutter along with my show The Cutting Edge Countdown, so Laura joined me for the talk and Kenny has some nice words for his history with the station WAPL.

Wage War might be one of the most popular of the heavy leaning metal-core bands out right now. On top of that, if you're paying close attention you might notice Cody Questad's stamp on modern music every where you turn. He's an incredible songwriter and it shows. The band can seemingly do no wrong right now, proven on their latest EP It Calls Me By My Name.

Sevendust may seriously be one of the most influential hard rock bands in history, and on their 15th studio album, they are once again proving why. One is out now, and it's filled with the heavy grooves and catchy choruses that only Sevendust can truly pull off.

Lajon Witherspoon is the soulful lead singer of Sevendust and truly one of the nicest human beings on the planet.

From the legends like Billy Idol and The Cult to creating music with the Godfather of Heavy Metal himself, Ozzy Osbourne, this is the career of Billy Morrison. A couple of years ago Billy put out The Morrison Project featuring the song "Crack Cocaine." The song had Ozzy on vocals and it quickly shot to number one. Then, as part of a expanded edition Billy put out another song with Ozzy called "Gods Of Rock N' Roll" and it sounded like a song that would be a swan song, unforuntly it was. Now, Billy is back with a new song called "Becoming" with Sully Erna from Godsmack singing and Nuno Bettencourt from Extreme on guitar. It's part of a new solo project called Hallow due out later this year.

When it comes to metalcore, there is something in the water in Australia. The Amity Affliction have been at that game for a long time and have amassed an insane and rabid fanbase along the way, not just in Australia or Europe, but here in the United States. With heartfelt and emotional lyrics courtesy of Joel Birch, the band remains at the top of their game. Their new album, House of Cards, touches on the emotions of losing a Mom who wasn't always there the way her kids maybe would have wanted her to be. Joel is at some of his most poignant on this album, and the music follows suit. Let's dive in with lyricist and vocalist Joel Birch.

Atreyu at this point are the elder statesmen of metal-core and they're embracing it. That doesn't mean they are slowing down, in fact you could make the argument that Atreyu are busier and more relevant now then ever before. With a new album coming out next Friday called The End is Not the End, the old school has met the new school. On top of that a tour with the most influential band in modern heavy music, Sevendust, kicks off this week. It's good to be in Atreyu right now, let's find out more from lead singer Brandon Saller.
