DMN8 the Day

Cyber Security - DMN8 the Day 138

Listen Later

So we're talking today about getting your business to the next level and what that looks like. It's January 20, 22, and everybody's focused on getting to the next level. But one thing that we don't focus on enough as small business owners is cyber security. We, we don't focus on this enough things like two-factor authentication, huge, any social media, any place where you have a credit card stored, you should have two-factor authentication. If you don't, somebody is trying to figure out how to get access to that account so they can get that credit card information. "But Gary have it stored in my Facebook ad account." Okay? Then what they'll do is they'll get access to your Facebook ad account. They will set up ads that run to websites that they own to sell products that they have. Don't believe me? Huge scam. It's something they do all the time and they are, they're focused on taking what's yours. So you should have strong, strong cyber security protocols in place. Things like a password keeper to keep all of your passwords in a secure place. We use keeper security, things like two-factor authentication for Facebook, Google, any access to any account that has a credit card number. Backups, backups to websites, backups to data, all of that should be done consistently and continuously. If you have a provider that helps with marketing, they should be doing backups on your website. They should be doing backups for data that they're managing. They should have two-factor authentication in place for accounts. If you're doing it, you need to make sure you have that in place. You see it's one thing to get your business to the next level with growth. It's another thing to get hammered by some type of cybercrime that puts you back. Two, three steps. How bad would it hurt if somebody hacked your Facebook ad account and charged up 10 grand before you knew it? "Well, I could get it all back." Um, maybe, maybe not. How bad would it be if somebody hacked into your website and before you knew it, they were channeling leads to someone else? "Well, I would know it before they did it." Hmm, maybe, maybe not. How bad would that be? How bad would it be if your social media was hacked and your social media was taken offline, period? How bad would it be if somebody got into your bank account? I can keep going, I can find out where your pain is, but instead of me continuing to try to figure it out, figure out what your pain is and how bad would that be. It would suck. I can remember there was a movie that came out not too long ago to where hackers would actually take over the cars that people were driving. Don't think that's true. Sh*t. Get in a new car today. Everything's ran by GPS and computer. It can be done. Take protective measures over the things that you own and the things that are related to your business. To keep people from hacking in taking control, stealing your money, keeping you from getting to the next level you want. You want to get to the next level, put in cybersecurity protocols, utilize those protocols, and make sure that you're locked down and producing backups for website data, etc. You'll definitely DMN8 the day,
