CYFIRMA uncovers Nuclear 27; a nation-state threat actor, hijacking the cause of various Anonymous and other environmental hacktivists of engaging in online protests using #OpFukushima, #OpJapan, or #OpTEPCO, against the release of treated water from the Fukushima Daichi Nuclear Power Plant in Japan.
 
The threat actor staged a suspected nation-state propaganda, claiming a 0-day RCE vulnerability and the existence of backdoors allowing the Japanese government to spy on its citizens to present an illusion of large-scale attack.
 
The only other media mentioning this attack were the very suspicious Chinese gossip/propaganda news site; ‘iNEWS’ pointing fingers towards Chinese threat actors.
