BENGALURU: Cyient is expanding its development centre in Warangal (Telangana) to 800 employees, up from 200 currently, even as the engineering research and development company has cut jobs in the last year to combat a business slowdown The Warangal centre will be its largest in the area, the company said.

Cyient’s expansion in Warangal comes after it had cut about 70 jobs in the June quarter.
In the September quarter, the company’s headcount was down by 185 sequentially.Warangal is also seeing interest from other IT players such as Tech Mahindra , which has also set up centres in the past two years.
