D Mac Attack - February 24, 2026

Listen Later

Darren McCarty is into wrestling, but ML and Marc are lovers, not fighters, so they ask D Mac to tell them all about his new Grind Time wrestling program.

STRAIGHT DOPE
Darren McCarty has wrestled with his share of demons -- from Claude Lemieux to addiction -- and now he wants to help kids build confidence through his Grind Time wrestling program. Hear all about it here!

Darren schools ML on "death match wrestling," and a number of other grappling genres.

Wrestling is about more than athleticism, and Darren says personality is just as important as physicality.

Grind Time has big plans for a wrestling event on 313 day -- that's March 13 to those of you unsavvy to Detroit's area code and calendars. Use this link to find out more.

It's tough to talk for very long with D Mac without the topic of cannabis coming up, and this visit is no exception. Darren talks about how cannabis helps manage pain and gives his tips on responsible cannabis use.

We've all made mistakes, but not all of us learn from them. Darren drops some wisdom that rang to true to ML that he immediately wrote it down: "If you take the lesson, it's not a loss."

Marc and ML couldn't let Darren go without asking him what he thought about the Olympic gold medal hockey game. But first, D Mac discloses how Meltdown caused him to cheer for Team Canada the last time NHL players met in the Olympics.

Miracle on Ice coach Herb Brooks was no picnic. So ML and Marc ask D Mac to stick around to record a bonus episode discussing some of the epic coaches he's played for. The episode will drop soon and is free for our Soulmates!
