D. Russell is the author of fifteen nonfiction books on a wide variety of subjects, including three New York Times bestsellers coauthored with Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura. His book Eye of the Whale was named a Best Book of the Year by three major newspapers. He was a recipient of the Chevron Conservation Award for his environmental activism.
