The history of the dispute over this park in Juarez, known as El Chamizal, dates back to 1864, when Mexicans who lived in Paso del Norte, today Ciudad Juárez, reported a notable variation in the flow of the Rio Grande, which had separated from the Mexican, lands that are now awarded to the Americans.
