Daddy said what?

 

I was talking to a kid at church and asked him - What’s your desert island album?  He said what?  I said “so if you are stuck on an island and can only have one album what would it be?”

He looks at me and says I don’t have any photo albums… I have all my pictures on my phone.

Guys thanks to everyone who reached out to me and encouraged me through my dogs death. I guess many of us men get it.

have faith and stay positive. 

 

Acts 28

28 Once safely on shore, we found out that the island was called Malta. 2 The islanders showed us unusual kindness. They built a fire and welcomed us all because it was raining and cold. 3 Paul gathered a pile of brushwood and, as he put it on the fire, a viper, driven out by the heat, fastened itself on his hand. 4 When the islanders saw the snake hanging from his hand, they said to each other, “This man must be a murderer; for though he escaped from the sea, the goddess Justice has not allowed him to live.” 5 But Paul shook the snake off into the fire and suffered no ill effects. 6 The people expected him to swell up or suddenly fall dead; but after waiting a long time and seeing nothing unusual happen to him, they changed their minds and said he was a god.

 

We get an unusual picture of faith. Paul rides through a storm in chains. He prophecies to the captain and sailors - we won’t be harmed.

He lands on the island and gets bit by a snake…

 

Hold on… lets back up.

 

He is a prisoner… going basically to die for his faith.

He has a history of being beaten, whipped, robbed, 

Falsely accused… Not just once but all of these many times!!!

Now riding the storm out

He gets bit by a snake and the people on the island think its because he is guilty…

 

AND WAIT FOR IT….

 

Ever have a day where you think it has been hard serving Jesus?

Really?

I would love to hear about your worst day… waiting…

 

Wait for it….

 

What does he do…

He shakes it off.     

As cool as Bruce Lee in a disco…

 

You know most of us would have snapped.

Are you SNAKING KIDDING ME! 

The toppling affect. 

How does he shake it off… Continually?

He had a deep reservoir of the Holy Spirit and intimacy.
