OpenAI is working on a super-smart AI called Orion (also known as GPT-5) that they hope will be able to do all sorts of amazing things, like write complex code, solve tough math problems, and even help with scientific discoveries. However, creating Orion is a huge challenge. It needs a massive amount of data to learn, but they've run into a problem – there's not enough high-quality information on the internet to train it! To overcome this, OpenAI is paying experts like mathematicians and coders to create new data for Orion to learn from, and they're even trying to get AI to create data for AI. On top of the data shortage, there has been a lot of turmoil at OpenAI, with some important people leaving the company. Despite the difficulties, OpenAI has released o3, a new model that's really good at "reasoning", which means it can think through problems more carefully. o3 is showing impressive results, but it's not perfect and still makes mistakes. It's also very expensive to use because it needs a lot of computing power. The big question is, will Orion ever be finished and will it be as smart as OpenAI hopes? Only time will tell!
