King Josiah discovers the Torah scroll buried in the rubble of the Temple. He reads it, and then rips his robes in repentance. He then begins to tear down all the Asherah poles, the places of Baal worship and he cleanses his kingdom from these detestable idols.
The scripture says:
“Never before had there been a King like Josiah, who turned to the LORD with all his heart, and soul, and strength, obeying all the laws of Moses. And there has never been a king like him since.” 2 Kings 23:25
