An Act of Substitution

Galatians 3:10-14

This morning we are going to think about the cross as an act of substitution. I guess all of us will have stood in for someone, acted as their sub. If you play or watch sport you will know that many players spend their whole career acting as substitutes, only called onto the field when others have performed badly or used up all their energy. Maybe at work you have had to step in for another colleague, had to play a different role in a drama because another actor has become ill or step in to cover for someone at church because they couldn’t carry out their task. 

The cross is a place of substitution.
