Marriage

We are carrying on and finishing the letter of James, this week – our third week in this challenging letter. Not a book I have spent much time in, but I have enjoyed looking at it and being challenged by his writing.
 
 Last week, we looked at the amazing reality that, through faith, we can be friends with God. God called Abraham friend because of His faith; He called the nation of Israel, Abraham’s descendants ‘friends’ because of their faith. Through faith, we are grafted into Abrahams family; therefore, faith draws us into that place of friendship with God. Which is truly amazing! We can be friends with God!
 In todays passage, James is again focusing on our relationship with God – and he brings in another picture – that of marriage.
