‘Why do you call me good?’
This week we are going to reflect on some of the parables of Jesus. To help us do this, perhaps in a fresh way, we are going to use five songs written by Olwen Ringrose on her Parables E.P. Olwen is a friend of mine, that I know through the Resound 12-song-challenge community.
Jesus was teaching/showing how life should be lived, how God always intended for humanity to relate to Him and to each other. Jesus was the perfect human, demonstrating what humanity was intended to be like.
Olwen, I think, picks this idea up really powerfully and simply in today’s song, based of course on the parable of the Good Samaritan:
‘Why do you call me good? I was just doing what anyone should!
