Mary
This week, we have spent a little time with four men of faith from the Old Testament. Abraham, his faith meant that he could step out on a journey to a new life because he believed the promises of God – he held the promises before him and lived in the light of those promises. Jacob – who after a life full of drama and deceit – looked to the promises God had made him and wrestled in faith with the Lord over them. Moses, surrounded, potentially overwhelmed with danger and responsibility he was able to stand firm, and not be afraid, leading the people across the Red Sea in a miraculous way. And yesterday, David, growing his faith muscles in smaller ways, able to face even the obstacle of an experienced and deadly Goliath in the name and strength of the Lord. Today we are going to move into the opening parts of the New Testament, and spend time with Mary, and her amazing, courageous, and obedient faith.
