The Pharisee and the Tax Collector

Today’s song focusses on the parable Jesus told about two men who came to pray at the temple. A Pharisee and a Tax Collector.

In many of His parables, Jesus often has a very clear hero and villain, but He often turns the expected on its head. When His listeners think they now which direction the story is heading, Jesus would shock them by ending with a twist.

As we look at this parable, which character do we associate with? Which character would we consider ourselves to be?
