‘Jesus anointed at Bethany’
Yesterday was Palm Sunday, Jesus welcomed into Jerusalem – if you joined in with QRBC or another church, there would have been chance to focus on Jesus’ arrival in Jerusalem. Which of course starts off Holy Week, and the chain of events which will lead us to the darkness of Good Friday and on to the Glorious New Life of Easter Day.
But it’s so easy to dash from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday without paying too much attention to what happens in between. And yet the Gospel writers spend much of their time telling us the stories of this week leading up to the cross. Jesus continues to teach, continues to heal, continues with his life. So this week we are going to focus on what Mark’s gospel tells us about this week.
