Rising from the Depths
We have lived in a time, an age when our expectation is that life should be good. That trouble shouldn’t come our way. We have often watched whilst the rest of the world has faced trouble, wars, disease, crazy prices, unrest, fear - but in the West we have seemingly behaved as if we were immune from such events. 
Perhaps the last few years has shown us that we are vulnerable too – that what we built our lives on, our securities on, our hope on, our confidences on – can disappear overnight. It is a wakeup call to turn our lives around, to recognise that we in the West have put our trust, and faith in the wrong places – in things that can fail and disappear. We can only trust in the Lord God, we can only build our lives on the Lord God.
