"It is given for human beings to live once and then to face judgement."
In fact the Bible shows that there will be two judgements which constitute this judgement. For those who believe God and follow Jesus, their judgement is not for sin, as the act of believing God and living according to His teaching, has saved these from judgement: Jesus having paid the price of our sin that we should walk free.
This judgement precedes the 1000 years age in which Jesus restores the world to the order that God gave it in the beginning. In this time of his reign on earth, those who died in Christ shall rise first: "The dead in Christ shall rise first" and shall be kings and priests ruling and reigning with Him.
This judgement of those who believe is for rewards. This is viewed with distaste by many Christians who say that we do not live to be rewarded, but God is just and he rewards those who put their trust in him. To the one who had ten talents and made ten more would be given ten cities to rule over. "Well done, good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of your Lord"
After the 1000 year period has ended, there will be judgement of all the rest of humankind, who will be judged by their works and words. Some will be saved, by the skin of their teeth, and some will be condemned and separated from God for ever as was their choice in life. This is called the second death which has no power over those who have put their trust in God.
