1 Peter 3 is about the transformative power of suffering.  Peter talks about the example of Jesus.  Though He never did anything wrong, though He never sinned, He suffered a lot in His life, and He suffered when He died on the cross for you.  In our culture, we think suffering is to be avoided at all costs.  We think it's unjust, unfair, and always bad.  The Biblical idea of suffering is different.  This chapter says to repay evil for evil.  When people insult you, bless them in return.  This is not the weak response.  This is the strong response.  This is part of the way we can change the world when we suffer.
