Spending time with God every day is inconvenient and difficult, but here’s why it’s SO important! In Matthew 7:24-27, Jesus calls us to build our lives on our relationship with God. Building a relationship with Jesus is an everyday commitment, which can be really challenging and inconvenient, especially when we get busy with other things… or are just tired or lazy. But a consistent relationship with God is worth it! Jesus says it’s like building a house on a rock–when the rough parts of life hit us, our relationship with Jesus holds us firm.
Challenge: set up a time for God, even if it doesn’t seem convenient. You can wake up half an hour earlier and spend the first 30 minutes of your day praying or doing a devotional. What I have found to really help me is starting devotional plans on the Bible app and having it notify me at a certain time of day to remind me that it’s time to be with God. I can worry about everything else later. I also find it more effective for me personally waking up early in the mornings and just being in God’s presence because it always makes a better start to the day knowing that God loves me and that God is for me.
