The third sign continues a theme of water. A man has waited by the Bethesda pool for 38 years for a slim chance at being healed! Perhaps surprisingly, when Jesus asks him if he would like to be healed, his answer is not a clear "yes"! It is not a stretch to imagine that Jesus asks us the same question and we, too, might have some hesitancy. How might Jesus want to heal you? And what might Jesus ask you to do in response?

The third sign starts with an invitation from Jesus to a man who is presumably waiting for healing, yet Jesus asks him, "Would you like to get well?"

- We are not told directly why the man curiously does not say "yes" to Jesus after waiting for 38 years for healing! Why do you imagine that he skirted around Jesus' question?

- Imagine that Jesus were to ask you, right now, "Would you like to get well?" How might you answer him? Would there be any hesitancy? And what might Jesus ask you to do in response to his healing power?
