Daily Devotion 58 - Knowing God Personally, Not Just Externally

Listen Later

In this episode, George Binoka walks through Deuteronomy 32–34, Psalm 13, and Luke 13, highlighting both the character of God and the condition of the human heart.

He begins in Deuteronomy 32, describing it as God’s own commentary on the Law—a powerful declaration of who God is: perfectly just, faithful, and sovereign above all false gods. God promises to protect, prosper, and multiply His people, reminding Israel that He alone is their foundation and inheritance.

In Deuteronomy 33–34, Moses gives his final blessing to Israel before his death on Mount Nebo. His life ends suddenly—not due to weakness, but as a consequence of disobedience—serving as a sobering reminder of God’s holiness and justice.

Psalm 13 captures the raw emotion of waiting on God, beginning with repeated cries of “How long?” but quickly turning to trust, joy, and praise. It models how believers can move from despair to confidence in God’s mercy.

In Luke 13, Jesus delivers a clear and urgent message: repent or perish. Through teachings like the barren fig tree, He emphasizes that true faith produces visible fruit. George challenges listeners to examine their lives for genuine spiritual growth, warning against hypocrisy—valuing outward appearance over inward transformation. Jesus also calls people to reject false teaching, pursue the narrow path, and ensure they truly know Him—not just about Him.

The episode closes with a heartfelt call to self-examination: Do you truly have a relationship with Jesus? Listeners are encouraged to seek Him sincerely, reject hypocrisy, bear fruit, and trust in His saving work.
