• Proverbs is wisdom literature, largely attributed to King Solomon (10th century BC) and compiled over time. Chapters 1–9 read like a father’s instruction to a son, urging the pursuit of wisdom rooted in the fear of the Lord.
• Proverbs 3 urges covenant loyalty and practical wisdom. Verses 5–6 sit at the heart of this chapter, contrasting self-reliance with God-reliance and promising divine guidance to those who trust and submit their ways to Him.
• In the Hebrew, “trust” conveys secure confidence; “acknowledge” implies relational knowing and submission; and “direct your paths” pictures God making the way straight and clear in His timing.

Word of the Day: Acknowledge (Hebrew: yada)

• Meaning: To know, recognize, and submit to; to be in relationship with. It is more than a nod to God—it is inviting Him into every decision, plan, and path.
• Practice: Before, during, and after decisions, pause to “yada” the Lord—seek His heart, align with His Word, and yield your will to His.
