Daily Message – March 20, 2026 – Walking by Faith

Listen Later

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” — 2 Corinthians chapter 5 verse 7

As we continue drawing closer to Easter, today’s verse gives us a simple truth that can shape every part of our lives: we walk by faith, not by sight.

That sounds straightforward—but living it out is something entirely different.

Walking by sight feels natural. It means relying on what you can see, what you can measure, and what you can control. It means making decisions based on what looks safe, predictable, and certain.

But walking by faith requires something deeper.

It means trusting God when the outcome isn’t clear. It means moving forward even when you don’t have all the answers. It means believing that God is working—even when you can’t see any evidence of it yet.

That kind of faith is not passive. It’s active.

It shows up in how you think, how you respond, and how you move forward in your life.

Think about what it means to walk. Walking is a process. It’s not one big leap—it’s a series of steps. One step at a time, moving forward.

That’s how faith works.

God doesn’t usually reveal everything all at once. He leads step by step. Each step requires trust. Each step requires obedience.

And often, the next step is not fully visible until you take the one in front of you.

As we approach Easter, this becomes even more meaningful. The journey to the cross was not easy. It was filled with moments that, from a human perspective, looked like defeat. It looked like things were falling apart.

But what looked like loss was actually part of God’s plan.

The disciples saw the events unfolding, but they didn’t understand what was really happening. They were walking by sight—and what they saw was confusing, painful, and uncertain.

But Jesus was walking by faith.

He trusted the Father completely. He moved forward in obedience, even when the path led through suffering.

Faith allows you to keep moving forward even when your circumstances don’t give you reassurance.

Faith reminds you that God’s plan is bigger than what you can see right now.

Faith gives you the strength to take the next step, even when the path is uncertain.

One of the challenges of walking by faith is letting go of the need for control. When you rely on sight, you want to manage everything. You want to predict outcomes. You want to avoid risk.

But faith calls you to trust instead of control.

It calls you to believe that God is leading, even when you cannot trace every detail.

So today, ask yourself: am I walking by sight, or am I walking by faith?

Are you making decisions based only on what you can see? Or are you trusting God beyond what is visible?

Walking by faith doesn’t mean ignoring reality—it means trusting God in the middle of it.

It means choosing peace when things feel uncertain.

It means choosing obedience when things feel difficult.

It means choosing trust when you don’t have all the answers.

And as you take those steps, something powerful begins to happen. Your faith grows. Your confidence in God deepens. Your perspective begins to shift.

You begin to see that God has been with you all along.

As Easter approaches, remember this: the resurrection was not visible on Friday. It was not visible in the moment of the cross.

But it was coming.

In the same way, there may be things in your life right now that you cannot see clearly. But that does not mean God is not working.

Keep walking.

Keep trusting.

Keep moving forward in faith.

Lord, help me to walk by faith and not by sight. When things feel uncertain, remind me that You are in control. Give me the courage to trust You even when I cannot see the outcome. Strengthen my faith and guide my steps today. Amen.
