📖 Scripture

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” — John chapter 14 verse 27

💬 Reflection

As we continue moving toward Easter, today’s focus shifts to something many people struggle to hold onto—peace.

Not just any peace, but the kind of peace that remains steady even when life feels uncertain.

Jesus spoke these words to His disciples at a time when everything around them was about to change. The path ahead would be confusing. The events they were about to witness would shake them. From their perspective, it would feel like everything was falling apart.

And yet, in that moment, Jesus gave them a promise: “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you.”

This is not the kind of peace the world offers.

The world’s peace depends on circumstances. It comes when things are going well, when plans are working out, when life feels stable and predictable. But the moment something shifts, that kind of peace disappears.

Jesus offers something different.

His peace is not based on circumstances—it is based on His presence.

That means you can have peace even when things are uncertain.

You can have peace even when you don’t have all the answers.

You can have peace even when life feels unsettled.

This is the kind of peace that carries you through difficult seasons.

Think about your life right now.

Are there areas where you feel uncertain? Are there situations where you are waiting for clarity? Are there things that feel out of your control?

Those are the places where God wants to meet you with His peace.

Notice what Jesus says next: “Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

This is both a promise and an invitation.

He is offering peace, but He is also calling you to receive it.

That means you have a choice.

You can allow fear to take over, or you can choose to trust God.

You can let worry fill your mind, or you can rest in His promises.

Peace doesn’t mean everything is perfect. It means you are anchored in something greater than your circumstances.

As we approach Easter, this truth becomes even more powerful.

The disciples were about to face one of the most confusing and painful moments in their lives. They would see Jesus arrested, tried, and crucified. From their perspective, it would look like everything had gone wrong.

But what they could not see was what God was doing.

The cross was not the end—it was part of the plan.

And the resurrection was coming.

In the same way, there may be things in your life right now that feel uncertain. You may not understand what God is doing. You may not see how things will work out.

But that does not mean God is not at work.

Peace comes when you trust that God is still in control, even when you cannot see the outcome.

It comes when you shift your focus from your circumstances to His presence.

It comes when you remember that the same God who brought resurrection out of the cross is working in your life today.

So today, instead of letting uncertainty create fear, let it become an opportunity to trust God more deeply.

Take a moment to pause.

Take a breath.

And remind yourself that God is with you.

You are not walking through uncertainty alone.

His peace is available to you right now.

Not based on what you see—but based on who He is.

🙏 Prayer

Lord, thank You for Your peace. In the middle of uncertainty, help me to trust You. When my heart feels troubled, remind me that You are in control. Replace my fear with faith, and my worry with Your peace. Help me to rest in Your presence today. Amen.
