Daily Psalms- Psalm 36

Listen Later

It is the very nature of sin to deceive the sinner. In Psalm 36 sin is personified and speaks to the heart of the sinner. It speaks lies that if believed will lead a person to believe they are above everyone else, and that there shamefulness will never be found out. Here the deceived accepts the lie that God is not real, or even more so, that he is irrelevant. He fears only one thing, not satisfying his own twisted desire. Fear of God is no where in his thinking.

What is the answer to being deceived by sin?

Only one thing, to delight ourselves in the "steadfast love of the Lord, by which we live and move and have our being. Morning Mercies has just posted a devotion on Psalm 36. Check it out. Now on all podcast platforms.
