As a leader, it means genuinely caring for people in the sense that you let them grow with the company by making sure their goals and the company’s goals are aligned.

Part of them growing in the company means letting them be better.

If your people are performing better than you, then you are doing a good job.

Do not try and hinder their career growth because that is not empowering them.
