As much as we love speaking about issues only within our Bohri community, nothing happens in a vacuum. In this episode, we talk about the other virus in our world: anti-Blackness. We touch on the intersection of Black and South Asian history, talk about the problematic ways anti-blackness is perpetuated in our communities and what it means to show up for other minorities.

Welcome back to Season 2 of DCP. We missed you guys! This season, we're back with even spicer topics, thanks to all your helpful feedback. In today's episode, we discuss what it's like to celebrate Ramadan under lockdown. We talk about what COVID-19 means for our community, the virtual transition being taken and how Jay & Zee are coping. As always, let us know what you think.
For our season 1 finale, Jay & Zee speak to three men in different parts of the world about their experiences navigating through Islam and Bohrism. We touch on issues like gender roles, stereotypes, racism, and mental health. Don't worry though, we're coming back next year with some bigger topics and more cool guests!
In today's episode, Jay & Zee share how women feel empowered and how Islam specifically leads to the empowerment. They also sprinkle in some thoughts you submitted about wearing a rida and the judgement passed surrounding the topic. There is stuff about representation, identity, and modesty, so strap in for a packed 22 mins.
In this episode, we delve into policymaking. Our guest Nala, who has worked for multiple big-name tech companies, has helped shaped content decisions and conversations around what we see on different websites. Let us know if you, like us, learned something about tech policy after listening!
Have you ever asked yourself “Would I choose to be Bohri if I wasn't born into our religion?" Well, in today's episode, we explore just that. We talk to Noor (aka Connor) from Orange County, CA about his experiences converting into Islam and eventually Bohrism. Jay & Zee also fangirl for you guys.
Sorry for the wait but Episode 3 is out! Do you ever feel pressure to tie the knot? Do you think we expire at age 25 if were still single? Do you rage over backhanded aunty comments to find a partner? This episode is for you. Let us know what you think!
In this episode, we talk to New Jersey-based artist Murtuza Hussain (@Murtzh) who rides against the tides of traditional Bohri professions and puts forth a much-needed conversation about mental health.
Check out Murtuza's website to see more of his work and show support!
