Dal Makhani- Easy and Overnight!

Check out this simple Dal Makhani recipe!

This is a staple in our house! I usually have it made for any company coming from India and they LOVE it! We don't use dairy in it much since my kids and husband are lactose intolerant.


Ingredients:

~1.5 Cups Black Urad Dal ( rinsed and strained )

~ 1/2 cup red kidney beans (not canned)

~ 2 medium tomatoes pureed

~ 1 large onion pureed

~ 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste (or 1/2 tablespoon crushed garlic and 1/2 Tablespoon of crushed ginger)

~ 8 - 10 cups water

~ 2 teaspoon ground Coriander

~ 2 teaspoon ground Cumin

~ 2 teaspoon salt

~ 2 teaspoons Garam Masala

~ Box of MDH Dal Makhani spice (use amount needed per taste)

~ 1 teaspoon chili powder / kashmiri mirch

~ 2 teaspoon turmeric

~ 2 tablespoons butter or Ghee
