Becka was only 16 years old when she lost her mom which is why it makes sense that she had a delayed grief that knocked her in the head after long bouts of excessive partying, drinking and not caring about how her actions effected other people. In this episode of DMR she talks about how not having her mom further exacerbated her feelings of not being wanted that began as a result of an absent father. Thankfully, she is the youngest of 5 girls and was taken in by her older sister and her brother-in-law who has been the father figure she craved. It's been 11 years since Becka lost her mom and while she still aches for her sometimes, she confirms that with time patience, and addressing your feelings, it does gets easier.
